Just finished Nichijou, I really liked it and wanted to watch Azumanga Daioh since it looks similar to Nichijou but the score difference between the Anime and Manga is considerably big. Is the Anime a poor adaptation of the manga?? Or is this another Wotakoi situation??

I don't think one is superior to the other, they're different experiences and both great. Personally I prefer the anime over the manga solely because of the voice acting and music, but whether you watch the anime, read the manga or both is completely on you, I guess.

I enjoyed the anime a lot more than the manga since it adds a lot of things that made me like the characters more, also makes it feel like there's actually a plot

Anyways thanks for the answer, I'll watch the anime.

I prefer the manga because azumanga daioh has short chapters and the anime really stretches them out to fit the episode length.

The anime is enjoyable but long. I finished the manga in 2 hours. And that was me taking breaks. Versus the anime. Which at minimum will clock you almost 9 hours.
There's not a whole lot of difference between the two. There's are strips that didn't get adapted. The anime tries not to flow too much in the 4-Koma structure but you'll feel it transition rapidly from time to time and it's a little jarring. The anime tries to group a lot of the misc strips to flow more in a typical story structure. Example, Sakaki meeting Chiyo dog did not happen in the Culture Fest story but it flows a lot better and makes more sense that Sakaki would be invited to Chiyo house for the costumes (which was also not in the manga).
Personally if you like one or the other where ever you start, enjoying the other might be for you but I'd also say that this is a series in both anime and manga that should probably be enjoyed more episodic or when you need a quick laugh. I'm more likely going to buy the omnibus soon and it'd probably be something I keep in the bathroom or by my bedside.
