During the business meeting of the District 6880 Annual Conference held April 28, 2019, a vote was held on a District Disaster Relief Plan. The District Governor explained that after receiving comments from PDGs and others, he felt it would be beneficial to all concerned to incorporate this plan as a SAMPLE in our permanent District Records, to include but not limited to our district web page, rotary6880.org and under the Public Files section of the District Files TAB of DACdb for access by clubs and district personnel to contour a plan that best fits both groups. A motion was made to accept the District Disaster Relief Sample Plan and spread it upon the permanent district records as heretofore mentioned. The motion was seconded and by unanimous vote it was approved. For clarification purposes only, no active plan currently exists. There is no enacting language to convert the plan from a SAMPLE or Draft plan to an active plan to be implemented. It will survive as a 2019 guidepost for club and district leadership to further address the issue and in memory of the significant weather events that plagued the district during the 2018-19 Rotary year, culminating in 23 deaths in Lee County in March, 2019.
